Province:
Hebei

Type Locality and Naming

Upper part represents a yellow-green and grey-green sandstone member, composed largely of fine-grained sandstone and siltstone, intercalated with clayey limestone lenses and slate, with the middle and lower layers yielding a big amount of bivalves and plant fossils (phytolites), with a thickness of 732 m. The clayey rocks are intercalated with phosphorus-bearing bands and nodules. Total thickness is over 2226 m
